And the result of the summit? As follows: President Obama has exhorted us quarrelsome folks in the Middle East to finally sit down and make peace.

Wow. Now that was helpful. I feel better already. Because, of course everyone around here--the local crazy right wings, the local crazy left wings, the rock throwers, the suicide bombers, the rioters....yes EVERYONE--has been just sitting around and waiting for Obama's instructions. "How will President Obama instruct us? What great wisdom will he impart?"

And now he has issued instructions! Start negotiations! Yes indeed. Clearly, peace is now just around the corner.

(Is it just me, or does his great wisdom 'stop talking and get this moving' sound suspiciously like Bush's great wisdom on this particular topic?)

If you will excuse me, I am going to go bang my head on my keyboard for a little while. And stock up on canned goods and a few lead vests.

The Hebrew newspapers describe it as a grownup reprimanding the two naughty boys to stop fighting. I never expected that much from Obama, but can you say cliche?

Agh. My mind frazzles every time I try to think about this topic. So you know what - I tend to avoid it. That's rubbish, right? Am I ashamed of myself for being such an ostrich - me, who thinks history is one of the most important things we can all learn from? Course I am. I just don't know where to go with it all. Blech.

Now, grow up the lot of you, put your toys back in their cupboards and play nice.

rachel (removing tongue from cheek as I write).

What would you have done you bunch of softies if mr. Obama would have been on your porch right now.

In case you are wondering, yes, we're embarrassed :(

Being ignorant about the latest trends, is this a life raft you are sitting on in this new "you" picture?
If a yes, what does one need a life raft for in the hills around Jerusalem.
If no, what other emergency thing is it we are looking at?

You're not saying he was not helpful, are you? I mean, he got the Nobel peace prize, he must have done something right!

Ehhh.. right?

In any event, I think he should invite Abbas, Netanyahu, Haniyeh and Lieberman to a beer in the Whitehouse gardens. It has a better chance of success that does anything else he's done! :)
