Darwin Awards: Category-Suicide bombers

Tonight my friend Rachel and I met for dinner. Over soup and salad we discussed her news, my news, and the country's news--namely, the bombing in Dimona and the widely disseminated footage of the police officer shooting the terrorist. Rachel had seen it; I had not. I just do not do gory stuff (no-not trauma--it just grosses me out).

Me: So, let me get this straight--he was on the ground.

Rachel: Yes. He was injured in the first explosion.

Me: Like, this guy did not have enough sense to keep out of the range of the bomb? What sort of jackass goes off to do a double bombing and gets knocked down by the first bomb? What, he did not realize that bombs are dangerous?

Oh, this guy is such a candidate for a Darwin Award.

Rachel: Oh yeah-in the suicide bomber category. Actually, I heard he was depressed. Before the bombing, I mean.

Me: So was he trying to kill himself by being blown up or by blowing someone else up? Couldn't he just, I don't know, OD on sleeping pills or jump off a building like everyone else?

Rachel: Could not tell you. Maybe neither? You know--maybe no one told him that bombs are dangerous. That would explain a lot.

Me: Wow, you might be on to something there. So, does this mean that we should start to feel better? Like the terrorists have now reached and are scraping the bottom of the barrel?

Rachel: No. The ones here still have not reached the point of strapping remote controlled bombs on the mentally disabled, like in Iraq .

Me: Oh right. So we still have a ways to go.

Rachel: 'Fraid so.

Me: Damn.

You have a particular talent for being amusing and serious at the same time. I just linked to this post.

There's a sucker born every minute. And when you run out of those there are always animals, children, and of course the mentally retarded. I mean, that's pretty obvious, right?

G-d bless you and watch over you. May he give you the strength to make changes and the strength also to accept what cannot or will not change.

You, and Israel, have many supporters in the 'internet' world, and in the United States. Not all of us are like Dhimmi Carter.

I believe the use of the phrase "Dhimmi Carter" violates Gila's request to keep this space politics-free. (I also think it pushes the racist boundary as well, but hey, I don't want to be inflammatory.)

Muslims Against Sharia condemn the murderers responsible for the homicide bombing in Dimona as well as degenerate perpetuation of the culture of death in Gaza.

Our prayers are with the victims of this atrocity. We send our condolences to their loved ones.

May the homicide bomber rot in hell for eternity. May his accomplices and animals who celebrated this horrendous act join him soon!

Muslims Against Sharia call on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to shut down Al-Hayat al-Jadida, Al-Iyam and Al-Quds as terrorist mouthpieces that glorify homicide bombings. Failing to do so will show that Palestinian Authority's quest for peace is nothing more than empty words.
